The Oh So Obvious Trick For Weight Loss
Im a big promotor of healthy, wholesome foods. And that doesn't mean eating kale and chia seeds all day. I like to eat out, I like to cook with butter and yes I enjoy my occasional junk food days like no other.
How do I keep my weight steady? The simplest and best trick I follow and give my clients is: PORTION CONTROL.
How obvious is that?
You would be surprised how weight will start shifting once you start eating a proper portion size. I don't know what happened but somehow everything got bigger on our plates (including our plates!) yet our bodies are not accustomed to digest all that food nor does it need it. Instead of giving us energy we are left tired and full after every meal. That's not the way to go, even if you're eating healthy meals. So you go on these "weight loss resolutions" every other month and deprive yourself from everything you love and nothing changes. How frustrating is that?
Here's a chart I found that gives an approximate estimate of the portions you should eat. Taking to consideration you're eating a balanced diet and not empty calories (which will keep wanting more!). fibre, protein and healthy fats at every meal will supply everything your body needs.
**Please don't try to use your husband/boyfriend/friends hand to measure that cheeseburger...I tried it a few times. Nice trick but gets you nowhere ;)
At first it feels like its not enough. But after a bit of an adjustment period, your MIND and body will get used to it and thats when you'll see how distorted our idea of serving size is.
Here's the perfect example of how much we should actually eat vs what is considered a normal portion size these days:
I say its all about balance. Im not suggesting to eat junk every night but here and there is ok. We're human. And I love my french fries way too much to give them up. So Here's my rule for the first step to a balanced, energizing and guilt free lifestyle (not a DIET)!
