Homemade Blackberry Fruit Roll-ups (3 Ingredients!)
Having healthy snacks around the house is important, especially if you have little kids that love finger food and always on the hunt for something sweet to eat. I used to buy the organic fruit strips because who even thought you can make them yourself? but as good of an option as they are, it still had a little too many ingredients to my liking.
Once it became a staple in our house I decided to look into a better alternative and here we are! the 3 ingredients, super easy, fruit roll ups! Take note that the mixture takes about 5-6 hours (depends on thickness) to cook so plan to make this in the morning or afternoon. I like to cut it in strips with the parchment paper and roll them individually. You can take it off the paper and roll it by itself too. Whatever works best :)
I use these as my secret weapon when Jake (my stubborn almost 2 years old) doesn't want to wash his hands or take a bath or clean his toys or or or (if you have one of them at home you know what Im talking about).
- 1 pint blackberries
- 1/4 cup honey
- Dash of lime juice
- Preheat the oven to 170 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat mat. Place all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor and puree until smooth. Pour the mixture onto the baking sheet and spread evenly with a spatula. Bake for 5-6 hours, or until completely dried out but still sticky.
- Remove the pans from the oven and allow to cool for at least 30 minutes. Cut the mixture into long strips. Start at one end and roll up each strip. Store in an airtight container.
