Raspberry Green Tea Smoothie #smoothiesunday
Its Sunday. and you know what the means? kids are home, no time for proper healthy breakfast= smoothie Sunday!
Today Im sharing this delicious antioxident bursting raspberry green tea smoothie. This smoothie is packing so much for so little. The green tea is an amazing source of antioxidents which play a huge role in aging. Green tea has also been shown to boost the metabolic rate and increase fat burning as well as athletic performance.
Raspberries are a wonderful source of vitamin C and fiber which will help to keep a healthy digestive function and help prevent blood sugar imbalance (keeps those cravings away!)
Greek yogurt provides a great source of protein which will help to keep you satisfied for longer and make this smoothie an option for a meal replacement!
I decided to add a little extra nutrient kick to it by adding my Acai powder. Acai berries are one of the planets highest sources of antioxidants, with one berry holding ten times the amount of antioxidants as grapes, and two times the amount of blueberries! They are known to aid in promoting skin health, heart health and weight loss among many other benefits.
But enough about all these great benefits, lets get some deliciousness into this Sunday!
Ingredients (serves 1)
1 cup of green tea (brewed and chilled- I usually make a jar of green tea with 2-3 bags and stip it then store it in the fridge and use whenever I need it for ice tea or a smoothie)
1 pint of raspberries (I used frozen raspberries)
1 tablespoon raw honey
1 tablespoon Acai powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
3 tablespoons greek yogurt
Ice (optional if green tea is not cold or you are not using frozen raspberries)
Top with unsweetened coconut shreds and some hemp seeds (optional)
Place all ingredients in the blender and blend till smooth consistency.
