My Current Skin Care Routine
I got a request to post my skin care routine and I thought it will be a great idea to share some of my currently favourite products!
During both my pregnancies I opted for the most natural skin regimen and when I say natural I don't mean the natural lines that are sold at whole foods or other health food stores, most of them still contain ingredients that I personally wanted to avoid while pregnant. So I decided to take matters into my own hands (literally) and made some home made natural essentials. I want to say it made wonders for my skin but I cant. In addition to that, I got the absolute opposite of a pregnancy glow (my skin decided to re-live the teenager struggle), fun times.
My skin is very sensitive and I tend to have blemishes, so the main thing I used when I was pregnant was oil. I have experimented with about 13 different oils on my skin, from coconut oil to jojoba oil...name it I have used it. I also dabbled in the oil cleansing method (for those of you who don't know what it is you can read about it HERE ) and although I liked the feeling of my skin after the wash and how easy it was to take off my make up, I was over the mess it made and wanted something more effective. So after a very long all natural skin care routine I did extensive research and went to get myself some goodies!
Here is my routine by order and the products I use:
Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil (HERE)
I first heard of cleansing oil gel while researching the Korean skin care routine (I cant wait to share the information and products I found!) , and it totally hit a soft spot! as someone who did the oil cleansing method this is the perfect product for getting the same kind of sensation in a more hassle free way. It melts away all makeup and washes away residue. It's very gentle and compatible with all skin types. A little bonus: Boscia is formulated without any parabens, Sulfates and phthalates.
Organic Moroccan Rose Water (HERE)
I can't tell you how much I love this product! Rose water is the perfect toner. It helps reduce inflammation and softens fine lines in addition to toning and balancing the skin's PH. It's very gentle and doesn't leave your skin feeling dry. I just pour a little bit on a cotton pad and swipe it all over my face and neck. It makes sure any make up residue is gone and my skin feels refreshed. Cleopatra knew what she was doing with this beauty staple!
Estee Lauder Night Repair Serum (HERE)
I have never used serum before but heard so much about this one. So now that Im approaching my 25th birthday, I thought its the best time to start preventive skin care measures. Im on the fence on this one because in all do honesty...what the hell is a serum supposed to do anyways? Im gonna use up the bottle and see if it made any difference.
Fresh Lotus Eye Gel (HERE)
Im loving the texture and smell of this Fresh line. It has cucumber extract in it and it feels like it cools my face and helps with puffiness. I use it by squeezing it onto my pinky and dabbing around my eyes. God knows I need a good eye cream during these period of sleepless nights. formulated without any parabens, Sulfates and phthalates.
Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream (HERE)
This is from the same line as the eye gel. It got really good reviews on alot of the skin care forums so I decided to try it out. I think its a nice cream for summer time but not equipped to deal with the harsh winter my face been going through. Im using it occasionally when I feel my face doesn't need the extra moisture. Again, love the coolness of the formula and how delicate it feels but I would probably not purchase it again so this one is getting a 3 star for me. formulated without any parabens, Sulfates and phthalates.
NUDE Detox Brightening Fizzy Powder (HERE)
I use this product to exfoliate my face and neck once to twice a week. This is my first experience with this brand and I absolutely love it! Usually with exfoliation my skin gets really irritated and it feels like it's been scratched. Not with this beauty. This brightening enzymatic treatment wash starts out as a fine powder, and with the addition of water, becomes a fizzing foam. The formula features multiple sources of vitamin C—including lemon and lime extracts, Brazilian acerola fruit, and ascorbic acid—that instantly brighten skin. A blend of enzymes facilitates exfoliation, while all-natural seeds from rose hip and vanilla gently smooth skin.
NUDE blended with pure oils including cold-pressed Inca gold oil, Hawaiian acai berry oil, and organic virgin coconut oil, and diffused them onto the powder. This is defiantly a keeper for me!
First Aid Beauty (FAB) Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration (HERE)
To battle this crazy winter I was searching for a cream that would protect and moisturize my skin without feeling too oily and heavy on. I've tried numerous products and this one is my favourite so far. The formula is really light and smooth and I love the fact that its a head to toe moisturizer so I use it for my face, neck, hands and whatever else that feels like it needs the extra hydration boost!
This cream is recommended for anyone with severely dry, scaly skin due to harsh winter weather, aggressive cosmetic treatments, or any of the following conditions: atopic dermatitis, irritant eczema, allergic eczema, and keratosis pilaris. With the help of colloidal oatmeal, shea butter, soothing eucalyptus oil, and ceramides it provides immediate relief for distressed skin. The FAB Antioxidant Booster—comprised of licoric root, feverfew, and white tea—defends skin from free radical damage. Great for all skin types especially dry, irritated skin, it leaves skin smooth, hydrated, and comfortable. formulated without any parabens, Sulfates and phthalates.
Are there any products you ladies used lately and absolutely loved? Any recommendations? would love to hear!
